RESCUE REPORT

Hurray! Last 12 dogs from California rescue effort have been released from “protective custodyAs many of you know, it's been a very long year for those of us doing rescue in California. As of today, the remaining 12 dogs that we have had in "protective custody" pending the disposition of Placer County's case against the Robockers have been released. Breathe a big sigh of relief, everyone!

Unfortunately, Irene's "punishment" does not fit the crime. She pled "no contest" (in CA, this is tantamount to a guilty plea) to ONE misdemeanor (rather than the 12 with which she was charged). She will not receive any jail time. She is forbidden to have dogs for only three years. Whether or not we will receive any monetary reimbursement will be decided by the judge on February 6 of 2008.

To all those who donated to this cause, please accept our heartfelt thanks. We couldn't have done it without you. The afghan community came to our aid in this time of need; your generosity has been beyond my wildest dreams.

We will have our story in the upcoming Afghan Hound Review.
Thank you again from Astrid Pryor and the entire Auburn 45 team.
